This will feel great! Go to your garage or basement, and take a bike inventory. Check the dust on your bikes. Do likewise with the bikes of your friends and neighbors. Look around for old, unused bike parts and tools that could be better used by us. We need bike tools, bike stands, hubs, wheel-sets, saddles, seat posts, stems, pedals. If you don't need them, let US be the judge of whether they can be of use.

We are a 501(c)3 organization. We will happily provide you with a donation slip.

A note about not-so-great bikes: We're doing our best to keep bikes out of the land fill. Some donated bikes have been so poorly mistreated and neglected that they are instantly identified as scrap. Yes, there are days we feel like a dumping ground. (It takes about 30 minutes to prepare a bike for recycling.) Currently, our metal scrapper gets about 50 cents for each bike frame that we cut up and deliver to the recycler. Wish the market was better for steel!

The good guys and gals at Simon Tire recycle our trashed bike tires.

Cash is always welcome to buy the things that aren't donated. As an convenient option to make it easy to be nice to us, you can donate in one of two ways.

The first way is through credit card transactions on our Financial Transactions page. You can combine donations with other transactions on this page. You can sign up for memberships, classes, B-Cycle gift memberships, ArtCrank and Bike Month support. Click here to go to Financial Transactions Page.

The second way is through PayPal either with your PayPal account or use a credit card on the PayPal site. Simply click on the button below to help us right now.

What your donations support: FREE bikes tune-up for Des Moines-area refugees. Purchasing locks to accompany donated bikes. And helping folks that their bicycle provides their only transportation.  (You've no doubt seen a few of those "shadow riders" in Des Moines).
